Pattern Finder

Show learners examples and have them find what the strong ones share.

Best for: recognizing quality, spotting criteria.

Rise can show learners a rubric, but reading a list of criteria is not the same as recognizing those criteria in the wild. Learners memorize the definition of a good example and still cannot tell a strong one from a weak one on the job.

The Pattern Finder gives learners several examples and asks them to notice what the effective ones have in common, then exports a single HTML file you embed in Articulate Rise, Storyline, Captivate, Canvas, Moodle, or any LMS that accepts HTML.

Use it for feedback quality, writing samples, customer interactions, or any skill where learners need to induce the rule instead of being handed it.

WHY IT WORKS

Pattern Finder shows several examples and asks learners to name what the strong ones share.

Learners given two analogous examples often worked out the shared principle, and the quality of that principle predicted transfer to a new problem. Gick and Holyoak (1983).
