Walk-through Simulator

Create click-through image simulations learners can explore step by step.

Best for: software, spaces, tools, orientation.

Build Click-Through Procedural Simulations Without Storyline Complexity

Build Click-Through Procedural Simulations Without Storyline Complexity

Software simulations in Storyline mean screen recordings, click boxes, text captions, and hours of editing for every interface update. When the software changes, you rebuild the whole thing.

The Walk-through Simulator takes a different approach — upload sequential images, configure click points, and give learners a first-person exploration they control. Export a single HTML file and embed in Articulate Rise, Storyline, Captivate, Canvas, Moodle, or any LMS that accepts HTML.

When the interface changes, swap the images and republish.

Use it for software training, facility tours, equipment walkthroughs, safety inspections, and any procedural learning where spatial awareness drives mastery

How To Use the Generators

Each tool in the eLearningDesign.org ecosystem follows a streamlined, three-step workflow designed to keep you focused on instructional strategy while we handle the technical execution.

  1. Input Your Content: Open the Content tab to add your specific learning prompts, interactive options, and coaching feedback. This is where you build the logic and instructional heart of your activity.

  2. Customize Your Design: Switch to the Design tab to align the tool with your course aesthetic. You can manually adjust colors, typography, and layout structures to ensure a seamless visual fit.

  3. Generate and Embed: Go to the Generate tab to finalize your tool. Click "Copy Embed Code" for your authoring tool's HTML block, or "Download as HTML" for local hosting and offline use.

Common Use Cases:

  • Safety and Facility Tours: Lead learners through a virtual warehouse or lab to identify safety hazards in a risk-free environment.

  • Software Navigation: Create a step-by-step simulation of complex software interfaces to guide users through new workflows.

  • Scenario-Based Orientation: Build "choose your own adventure" style walks that change based on the learner's environmental decisions.
